“Chosen” is a collaboration between Blxst, Tyga, and Ty Dolla $ign. It was released as the 12th track onto the deluxe version of Blxst’s debut EP, No Love Lost. The song contains a guitar sample from Electric Soul – Guitar Loops and Riffs by Treehouz from Splice. Blxst told Billboard that working on the song was just “a normal day”, explaining:
I was just working. It felt fun creating it. Something about it felt different. It gave a different energy as I was recording it. Then Ty Dolla $ign laid his verse, and it was all up from there.
A music video for the track was premiered on YouTube on March 25, 2021. The inspiration behind the music video was three college films, School Daze, Love & Basketball, and Stomp the Yard. The 3 artists hold a party at a youth success program, “Evgle University”, “tailgating with cheerleaders at football games to partying at frat houses with the step team”.
On November 4, 2021, Blxst and Ty Dolla $ign performed the song on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
On October 9, 2021, “Chosen” debuted at #98 on the Billboard Hot 100. After 19 days, “Chosen” was certified gold by the RIAA on October 28, 2021. After a month and 15 days, it peaked at #53 on the Billboard Hot 100 on November 13, 2021.
